The sun today

Just a quick snapshot of the sun, taken by an extreme ultraviolet telescope, at several different wavelengths which correspond to different temperatures at various altitudes in the sun’s atmosphere.

Despite coming up to a local maximum in the solar cycle, there are no sunspots around at the moment in the visible or H-alpha spectra.
